Peugeot 406 1998 model rear screen heater

Hi

I am new to this section and would like some help with following problem: the rear screen heater switch no longer lights up when pressed consequently rear screen is not clearing, my husband said the switch is the fuse but does not know how to remove switch from dash without doing any damage. We do not have a Haynes so could any of you wonderful and knowledgable ABer's help me?
