Musical Differences

Does anyone know which was the first band to split quoting 'musical differences' as the reason, or alternatively the first person to leave a band for the same reasons?

A 6 1/2 year old Mikey left the school choir and band because they would not let me play the triangle and tried to make me play the tambourine instead.

 

I could have been a big star had they let me play that triangle.  :-)

I was sort of thinking from the beggining of rock and roll, so mid-fifties onwards.
