Moreover, the plural of locus (place in Latin) is loci, which explains why I couldn't get the right answer for 27ac. Nevertheless, I am delighted to have been one of the winners of last Sat's Times crossword. �20 worth of Smiths tokens winged their way to me this week. Wahey!
