I want to invest in an industrial sewing machine but don't know what make or model to go for does anyone know enough about them to recommend one

Brother machines are generally very reliable, Singer also good. Best bet is to search ebay, my customers have had some very good deals.
New machines are very pricey, and the Chinese made machines available on the 'net are best avoided!
Find a deal on ebay, not to far from you, they are bulky, and have a good service engineer to check it over before you get started.
