Blue chip companies

Someone please tell me what a 'blur-chip' company is-cheers!!

Basically a blue-chip company would be renowned for their quality of service and would usually be trusted to make money (& therefore pay dividends)

Presumably a blur-chip company is one from Hull ; - )
