Tight chest, catching breath

Have had a tight chest for a few weeks now, not painful just a tight drafty feeling and keep catching my breath when talking and it makes me cough.

Doc put me on inhalers but they dont see to work. I have to go back tomorrow and more and likely go for a chest xray. I'm 34 years old and no other symptoms.

Any ideas?

I know you said that it wasn't indigestion but there is a condition called 'silent gerd' which can cause similar symptoms. It is also known as Laryngopharyngeal Reflux or LPR. Check out the web address below. it may be of use or I may be barking up the wrong tree completely!
