On Friday Jan 25th there is apparently a 10minute silence to raise funds for Macmillan
Cancer Support. Apart from this great cause how would you spend your 10 minutes of silence

I am off on Friday and will be able to do whatever i choose all day, is this at a specific time nationally?
sitting peacefully
Probably feeling sorry for myself as I will be resting after having had spinal injections the previous day. And I won't even be left in peace either as my 10yr old daughter has an inset day on Friday. D'oh!
ouch aprilis I feel for you!! double whammy!!
ooo that sounds bad aprilis, are the cotesone inhections? my bloke had a course of those about 10 years ago, they really really helped
I will be having 10 minute 40 winks.
ill be taping me
mouth as i find it
hard to keep it shut for 1 never mind ten
but i do suppert cancer research

collect in club on friday for our local hospice

xx
will chico be quiet too?
It's slightly better than the alternative of having surgery to put a replacement disc in my spine Cazzz. That's coming at some point though as my disc is completely shot now. The injections are for temporary pain relief.
Dot, I think one of the injections is a steroid. They are a caudal epidural and a facets block. I had them last January and they took about a month to take full effect, but lasted about 9 months. They make you a bit wobbly on the day they are done and it's quite unnerving.
Sorry Mary T, I've hijacked your thread. Apologies hon.
i had an epidural with my eldest, what a wierd sensation, like when you can't feel the nerves in your face after a dentist inhection.
mary T when on friday is it gonna be?
Could someone please explain to me how a ten minute silence is going to materially affect cancer research/support. It'll have about the same affect as laying down a bunch of teddy bears and flowers at the side of a roadside fatality.
I agrre stewey -I dont see the point -I find it hard to be made to do one minutes silence -no disrespect.
I support as when I feel I want to.

As for the side of the road 'tributes' -Dave hated them with a passion -they are a distraction and what purpose does it serve -just a daily reminder to the people concerned.Lo and behold someone has put plastic flowers and a hideous wreath down -bright orange glowers -o half of us want to take them away but it could be his old Dad and its not really our place -he will be growing -guaranteed.

I think there should be a blanket ban on them -full stop -they are distracting you precisely at the point where someone was killed -no brainer as far as i'm concerned.
