might have something to do with gravity time and motion. depends which way you are facing. you would think an aeroplane could just lift up hovver and wait for the destination to arrive. that would be safer.
Funny you should ask this question but I have always thought that if you go up in a hot air ballon and stay up in the same place for 12 hours or so you should be able to come down in Australia.
I understand that the laws of gravity state that what goes up must come down, but in order to land in the same place wouldn't I have to be travelling at the same speed in the oppisite direction?
