Rip Off Britain
24 Answers
We, through work, had to stay in the Hilton Hotel last week and it cost us 15.00 for the privilege of parking in their car park after the extortionate room fees they charge already. We then filled up with petrol to go home at 1.10 a litre. On the way home we visited our sick mother in hospital and paid a further 3.00 to park, and we were not there very long. She had a TV monitor over her bed, rather than the ward TV, and this cost 6.00 per DAY talk about taking advantage. These poor patients rely on the TV to get them through the day.
Is anyone else fed up with constantly being at the receiving end of rip-off Britain and everyone, everywhere being on the take!

Make sure the heatings on, that she has eaten and that she hasnt had an angina attack. She pays about 35 quid of this, although she has no extra pensions or anything and minimal savings. So I would have thought other people have to pay a lot more.
Thank you Quinlad, I was probably over sensitive!
I agree a television is no contest for the provision of medical services, but I am only suggesting reintroducing the ward TV, but then allow patients to bring their own in (paying a small fee for the maintenance man to provide a PAT test if necessary)
You raise a very valid point regarding unjustified money being spent, but it is also recognised that patients respond better if they are socially interactive and this can mean watching TV. Many elderly patients lie there for 24 hrs staring at nothing for days and this is not good for their well being or indeed recovery Even one day in hospital can feel like an eternity.
Funds are at premium because the Government are fire fighting daily and constantly developing new initiatives instead of perfecting and streamlining the current systems in place and with each new initiative comes a whole new budget.
Btw, I always pop to Tesco before the pictures and take sandwiches on trips I am not mean, but I hate being fleeced and like you said, I have the choice, but in hospital you dont it is a captive market and they have capitalised out of it.
The country is going to the dogs. We are just the last stop on the refuge journey. All the working talent has to go abroad to get proper wages. The government are only out to take as much as they can because they assume to be in office only a short time. Nobody looks at the bigger picture anymore. Going to move abroad as soon as i can. Great britain isnt so great anymore. I'd love someone to do a survey asking brits whether they would emigrate if they could.
