cuban currency conundrum

i'm going to guardalavaca, cuba in 2 weeks, and just wondered what is the best way to take my money over there?...pounds sterling, US dollars, cuban pesos, cuban convertibles, travellers cheques?

if i remember right, u cant take pesos in and out of the country. we took british pounds, they get a better exchange rate than dollars.
I'd also take travellers checks, because most insurance companies only cover you for �250 in cash, so if you got mugged or something, u wouldnt be insured.
