Yes, whatever you do, get a look at the small print first.Some insurers won't pay unless your vet has notified them immediately on seeing the dog or where an accident injury or condition is not treated immediately ! Others have strange definitions of what is routine treatment. Others have odd exclusions for age, so some breeds are not covered or not fully covered on reaching or being a certain age.Some exclude some treatments.All of them offer wonderful deals which are meaningless in practice.For example, one proudly told me that it was increasing public liability cover from , I think, �5 million to �10 million at no extra cost! In Britain my dog would need to write off an airliner to get anywhere near a claim of that size ,and then �10 miilion might not be enough! (Home insurance normally covers you against public liability anyway)
