thank you norman the dog &co. I have managed to replace the headlight main beam bulb without removing headlight assembly from the car.Very little room but I must have small hands. My Haynes Manual was not much help as it appears only to concern fiesta headlights and not fusion models

Unfortunately you will find that Norm and his cronies are ill informed people that regularly post answers like "buy a manual"or "take it to a garage".

Obviously very sad.
thats a very good answer twazerk or should that be **** zer, the reason i and my cronies say as you put it,buy a haynes manual, is simply, that owning one will cover all the things that people who are often not that mechanically minded will need to know. try to explain how a headlight out on dozens of different motors, could be very long winded, and having a manual is the best way,but i doubt you would be able to work that one out,we have manuals at our garages of loads of vehicles to help our mechanics and apprentices out and they only cost a few pounds.

very sad of us i know.
Steady yourself Norm.
