I got a lot of crocus ( not specie but normal spring flowering hybrids) in November, left them in their bags, bags opened for air,in a cold place but forgot all about them. Not surprisingly they've just begun to show 'noses'. What to do? Is it all right to plant them outside now, provided I don't damage the emerging shoots? Will they flower this year, come up blind or simply die on me, never to revive next year?

Go ahead and plant them fred. This often happens to me with bulbs. Most of them will flower ok;-)
you've nothing to lose...and if they don't do much this year you'll have them next spring.

I've got crocus coming into flower in the garden already & the snowdrops aren't open yet...the world's gone mad!
Yep, plant them. They'll be fine. Leave them in the ground next year. I had the same thing happen & they flowered OK. Might be an idea to cover them with a bit of fleece initially, just to get them acclimatised to being outside, especially if it gets frosty before they come up fully. I know they're hardy, but as they've been inside all winter, better to be safe than sorry.
Hi Fred

Last January, I found some crocus bulbs in the garage that I'd forgotten to plant out, (not the first time)! They had started sprouting, so I put them in pots & by mid spring were popping up nicely! They're opening again now, so it didn't do them any harm!

I did put some sheets of bubble wrap over the pots to save them from the frost mind.

Good luck with yours....

Thanks, all. (What's the betting we now get hard frost and rock hard ground for the next few weeks?) :)
Well..we gardeners are brave sorts anyway Fred..nothing ventured nothing gained lol...
Thankfully, it's been a really mild day here Fred!

I've been out in the garden, then clearing out the garage all afternoon. I was covered n dust & cobwebs, but I've really enjoyed it as the blue tits have been venturing in & out of the nesting boxes already!!!!

Don't say that, smudge. I've got no excuses now !
Ha, ha! It's great when you get back into the swing of it Fred! Mind you I've just watched the weather forecast & it looks like frost &/or snow in the South East. So depending on where you live, you may just get away with it after all!
