you wont have to pay any charges - he will. And luckily, he's got some money to pay them out of.
If he doesn't pay his share then you, me and other taxpayers are subsidising him, which would be a bit unfair if he could afford to pay his way . It's his money and he may want the dignity of paying his way rather than feeling he's a charity case.
I wouldn't advise you to syphon off /hide his money, and the pensions people/care home are very alert to this type of fraud. But one legitimate thing he could do is prepay his funeral- that would give him peace of mind and would keep down his savings and hence his care fees.
kill him
That's a bit naughty, nordickaz. I agree with factor, but I know that there's always the argument that if you've paid into the system all your life, why should you have to tip up your savings or sell a property to pay for care charges, when those who've done very little get it for nothing. Sadly, paying for your own care seems to get you a better deal in some cases - but then if you're paying for it why not?

Can I just answer to 'factor 30', what sort of a DIMWHIT answer is that you idiot ! He's worked all his life since the age of 14, payed all his taxes, fought in the war. Are you one of these people who claim anything and everything, not worked much in your life....I bet !
