my 22 yr old standardbred mare was in with a yearling colt in feb-march 2007 she was showing a pregnant belly in sept oct time then it dissapered i asumed she lost it due to her age. i have problems keeping the weight on her over the winter so in the early days of jan she went from being under weight to being border line fat with in a few days and yesterday her udders were slightly bigger not much be enough to notice a difference. her behaveure has also changed shes a grumpy mare all the time but has never been aggressive to wards anyone since ive owned her now she wont let anybody but me near her but me and shes also developed a close bond to a 3yr old filly and when there out in the field together she wont let any of the horses near this other one (she attacks them nastely) and she also wont let this horses owner or anyone else catch her out the field she goes for them like she would another horse she lets me go near it and her but no one else and as soon as i have her she s so quiet i dont believe its her sometimes.

the troubble is most of the yard think shes having a phantom pregnancy so i dont no what to do please help
