Does anyone know the name and artiste of the Latin/Salsa type track that Odeon USED to use at the beginning of their programme? I have contacted them many a time but they can't help for some reason.

The song is "I Like It Like That", recorded by Pete ('Mr Boogaloo') Rodriguez. Available on a compilation called 'Latin - The Essential Album'. The tune was written and first recorded in 1961 by New Orleans legends singer Chris Kenner and producer Allen Toussaint. Kenner is best kown now for writing "Land of 1000 Dances", but his original version of "I like it like that" reached #2 on the Billboard pop chart. He died in 1976. Toussaint was a pianist/ arranger in the 50s, moving on to become THE great producer of New Orleans - The Meters, Lee Dorsey, Lady Marmalade and about a million otheres - and a musician in his own right ("Southern Nights"). Still working, I think.
