Single input for 5.1 surround sound

How do I split one input (1 white and 1 red connector) so that it can connect into all six input connects so that I can have base and all the surround sound speakers working at once.

I am not an expert in this area, but I think you need an AV (Audio Visual) receiver.

The six speakers all connect to the AV receiver.

Then the inputs (Sky, DVD player etc) all plug into the AV receiver.

The AV reciever then splits the sound into the correct speakers.
