my Screeching cat!!

I have a gorgeous 13 year old tortoise shell cat. But she is constansly screeching in the middle of the night. She will stand outside my bedoom door miowing her head off, so i open my door to let her in, but she still does it. I dont understand why. It's not a recent thing, she's been doing it on and off for a few years now, but it's bloody annoying!!! Shes not doing it cos she's hungry cos half the time she's just been fed! plus we have a cat flap so she can come and go as she pleases.
Any help please!!!!!!

Oh I know exactly what you mean. My 17 year old cat does the same - she sometimes goes downstairs in the night and stands there yelling. We have tried her hearing and there doesn't seem to be a problem but as in a pickle says her hearing could be starting to go. I think she's just going a bit dotty in her old age. My vet said unfortunately there are no pills to stop them yelling!
