newland park, normanton...
6 Answers
i found a place called newland park, in normanton, england. its a small derilict house at the end of newland lane which comes of the main road running through normanton. Now, ive seen newland hall, well, whats left of it! its surrounded by woodland, all over grown and nothing much to see. (accept once i found an old abandonded carvan there...) newland park however is different. it looks odd, out of place. everything else is old. newland park is just a small house, burned out, but doesnt appear in terms of brickwork.
i was just wondering, does anyone know the history of newland park? how it got there? who it belonged to? im just curious is all...the internet would usually come up with something, but im all the more intrigued because i cant find "anything" on newland park, only newland hall...

wow T2K1 - where did you find this info? interesting stuff - by the way, ive heard of john goodchild...i used to work at wakey library, the one in the centre of wakey behind the train station, i saw a few of his books. ive always found history an interesting topic. unfortunatley because working in a library was generally concidered in my book (lol! - get it, library, my book!) boring and depressing, i never read any of his stuff. shame really.
i havent been there for a long time either, its a nice place to go even just for a walk. its nice and quiet. i wonder if the house is still there...probably, and probably not changed...maybe crumbled up a bit more. it just looks such a sad site, which is why i was curious.
