The most boring conversation - ever

I have just listened to a collegue for the last half hour telling me what her kids did this weekend.

Is there anything more boring than hearing about other people's kids?

After a recent experience.... Formula One Racing as a topic of conversation makes you want to cut the other persons tongue out. Preferably with a blunt knife.

i used to work with a woman who would come in and spend all night talking about her kid and their recent caravan holiday, (once she even drew a diagram of how their caravan was parked in relation to the others) luckily she left before i ripped her vocal cords out

Hearing about their medical conditions.

Hearing some story about where they work involving people you don't know which they think is really funny and you think is mind-numbingly tedious.

Hearing someone describe the "plot" of last night's 'EastEnders'.

Hearing someone on the phone on the train talking too loudly about more or less anything, but particularly what the options are for supper when they get home...

Come to think of it, is there anything we do like to hear from other people??

Its other peoples dreams I absolutely dont get -I just glaze over -I mean at least holidays and decorating and kids are real life -BuT dreams -FFS.
I have sat (only once -believe me -I can change a subject in the blink of an eye) and listened to utter pish-that hasnt even happened -WTF

yes, my sister in law apparently has the widest extended family in the whole world. If i spent every day of the rest of my life meeting them, i doubt i would get round all of them. Whenever she comes over, she talks non stop about them all, naming them one by one....there can be nothing more boring than hearing mundane details about 2,000 people's lives that you have never met. and by the details of thier lives, would never want to. I just nod and try and change the subject

I have a mate who constantly goes on and on about how fantastic his 12 year old daughter is. She can sing better than anyone, play the guitar better than anyone.......and so it goes on !! He's going to get her on the x factor when she's old enough. He won't like it when Simon Cowell says she's rubbish. ( She isn't very good !! )

My ex husband has got to take the award for the most boring person that ever lived ! He would be capable of putting anyone in a coma just listening to him.

I know it is time to leave the party when the discussion turns around to:-

(a) pension plans.
(b) compost bins and
(c) the neighbours bad habits.....

Crazy thing is, I do have a pension, have two compost bins but my neighbours are fantastic....

my job consists of working with th elderly and trust me they repeat them selves daily. one lady tells me every monday morning what she had for sunday lunch,and its always a roast.!

I guess it depends on what your interests are. I dont mind hearing about people kids or pets but it bores me to tears listening to the younger people in the office going on about their weekends
