I had a haircut today at my usual barbers but by a different bloke as my usual one was off sick. He gave me a very good haircut and as he finished he put some white powder from a rubber bulb with a silver/chrome top onto a brush told me to close my eyes then brushed it over my hair. What was this? I asked some people at work and they took the p*** saying it must be hairlice powder!
Does anyone know what the powder was?

It's probably just talcum powder.

If your barber used clippers and did any shaving, the powder is jjust to calm any skin irritation, and to make you smell fresh.

It's quite an old-fashioned touch - years ago, all barbers did this, but very few keep up the tradition.
its a good job it wasn't the black rubber bulb with the gold top on , thats crab powder................
