What, in your considered opinion, is the best Bowie's ever recorded?
For me, I think his 2000 BBC concert is as good as it gets - incredible performance, sublime mix of old standards and new favourites, and the best backing band of his career. And it was a free cd when you bought his BBC sessions collection.
However the BBC CD is a good buy but sadly a few songs are omitted from the set list.
He actually played:
Wild Is The Wind
Ashes To Ashes
Seven
This Is Not America
Absolute Beginners
Always Crashing In The Same Car
Survive
The London Boys ********************
I Dig Everything *******************
Little Wonder
The Man Who Sold The World
Fame
Stay
Hallo Spaceboy
Cracked Actor
I'm Afraid Of Americans
Encore
Ziggy Stardust ****************
The Jean Genie (instrumental) ****************
All The Young Dudes ********************
Starman **********************
"Heroes" **********************
Let's Dance
***************those omitted from the CD, why I do not know!!!
Sadly weve seen the best of bowie , like elton john and others his recent work is at best mediocre at worst total rubbish.Fortunately theres a big enough back catalogue to carry them. But their new stuff is dire and not worth mentioning .
Bowie was always crap. He tried to look sullen and smoking but always ended up looking like a shop assistant or a lavatory attendant. Cliff and the Shads on the other hand were way cool.
