Why is it that I am finding it so hard to get a hold of Chuck Palahniuk's Invisible monsters?

I dont tend to buy books for myself so I've been looking in libraries but none seem to have it !

Should I just buy it or do you know of any other way of obtaining a book which is not new, or a downloadable version ?

Buy it.If you want to read it,buy it.In the past there have been a few times when I have dithered over whether to buy a particular book only to find that when I make up my mind it has gone out of print.I don't know this book or how old it is but I wouldn't take the risk.

It's available to buy but if you really don't want to, your library will be able to request it from another branch that has it (usually for about 50p).

that book was quite confusing and i read it several times and can't make sense of it!

Try second hand books shops for example Oxfam bookshops are quite good
