frozen cursor
My main computer has a hard drive ( 250 GB capacity )
partitioned into drives C, D, E, F and G.
The computer is split into 2 accounts, ie one for my wife and one for myself.
When the computer reaches the screen with the 2 accounts shown, if one moves the cursor and presses enter on the required account the cursor freezes and one cannot get any further.
Each account has a password but one cannot get that far as the cursor will not move.
I thought that by placing this Hard drive in my other computer as a slave drive, I would be able to over come this problem and correct whatever had gone wrong.
I can access the drive but I cannot gain entry to the screen showing the accounts to sort out what has gone wrong.
Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

surely the train of events is select account | enter password then press enter?
If you don't have any encrypted files .... try disabling passwords ....see if you can access .... then if OK re-enter the password option

In order to select the required account you have to press the left mouse button ( enter ) whilst on that account name which then highlights that account, you then need to enter the password in the space provided and then press enter ( left mouse button ) again to continue.
My problem is that I can position the cursor over the required account name but when enter ( left mouse button ) is pressed the cursor freezes.
Is it possible to do something in the bio's setup which will allow me to jump the account entry screen, so that once the computer boots I will be able to do something else to fix this cursor fault.
This problem is really getting me down, Please, Please help if you can. I'm relying on you Tech Guys and Gals.
Whoever can sort this out is a real genius in my eyes.
Thanking everybody in advance.

Sorry for so many posts. As for the first response, it needs to be done on the original computer. As for the third, that too needs to be done on the original computer too. As far as i know, the only way to get past the welcome screen is to disable all accounts but the administrator. This will allow you to just boot into windows without the user account screen popping up because there is only 1 account to choose from.
