Maybe you have answered your own question - maybe they work full time during the week too.
I do my food shopping on friday afternoons. I normally only go into town early Saturday but today had to shop longer for my husbands birthday present and town was packed
I do agree but there seems to be people out shopping almost everytime of day every week, weekdays, evenings weekends ,, there is no let up!!

not to mention the mountains of people panic buying easter eggs?!
Advice haysi - don't visit bluewater on the weekend - it will finish you off! :)

Postdog you are probably right!

tickledtrout, I hate shopping at the best of times. I didnt need a lot of things but the supermarket was jam packed. There was mayhem in the aisles! And then the stupid self service checkout wouldnt put my stuff through properly and I kept having to get the supervisor. Mind you, I bought a new CD (Adele) and its very good. :)

Cazz- noooooooooooooooooooo! Its too early for Easter Eggs

Beads, we have a new shopping centre here and it was heaving. I am glad about that as its all good for the local business. I think that it was so busy as it was payday weekend for monthly paid people!

BTW, my arms have lengthened about 4 inches LOL! I only meant to be an hour but was away for ages and it was freezing too. I may go back to internet shopping!
I love a bit of net shopping haysi, it's so handy. I hate the four inch arm stretch syndrome. I end up with carrier bag handle marks on my hands too! :D
I only have the weekend to shop too but it always amazes me how many very elderly people are out shopping on a Saturday. It's so busy then and I don't think they can be working full time! I have seen them in the car park with their cars so it's not as if they are relying on a lift. It's the last place you would find me at that age on a weekend!
Can't be doing with the self service checkouts something always goes wrong. My worst shop for queues is WHS, there was 14 people on front of me this morning!

I used to do my grocery shopping online but got out of the habit. I wish I was incredibly rich or famous and then I could get the whole shop to myself! That would be bliss:)

You would find me in the vino aisle LOL

Bensmum, you make a fair point. I used to get annoyed when I popped out at lunchtime to the bank or postoffice and there was a queue like an execution for people picking up their pensions!!
I do a main food shop on Friday evenings, but still go out on Saturdays to get fresh fruit, vegs and meat.

I have a good little market near me and the prices for fresh foods are much better than the supermarkets.
My local ASDA was packed to the rafters today when I went for milk and bread . It was probably busier today being as the end of the month wages will have just been paid .
