How can we get rid of the squirrels from our loft? All the visible gaps have already been blocked. We don't know how they are entering the loft. The council pest control (expensive call out charges) visit at our request and leave behind some squirrel poison but it hasn't helped.

Live traps and drown them

How are they getting onto your roof? Do you have any tall trees or bushes nearby within leaping distance of the roof? And is it a shared roof with other houses who have trees within leaping distance? If so you need to consider removing the means by which they can get onto or into your roof/loft in the first place

My neighbour had the same problem and after months of searching found a small piece missing out of an airbrick at ground level which the squirrels used as point of entry and then climbed up the cavity wall into the loft.
