Anchorage to Whittier

We are thinking of an Alaska cruise this summer. Because we have loads of Airmiles we want to book our own flights. But this would mean that we would have to make our way between Anchorage (where the airport is) and Whittier (where the cruise ships dock). Does anyone know how easy this is to arrange yourselves?
Many thanks

Actually someone seems to be asking exactly the same question here:

Seems to range from $19 - $42

You do not mention what ship you are on - but at the top of this link click on the word 'boards' and you will find a link to each cruise line and will find tons of useful info. There is even a 'roll call' section where you can chat to fellow cruisers before you travel. You have to sign up for this feature, and also sign up before you can search for topics - it is free and well worth it!
As well as the transfers given in auntieberties link there is (in summer) a once a day train service. Bit pricy at $60 though. It's mainly for tourists visiting the glacier.
