I am still trying to work out what the tiny black bugs are that I find in dusty corners of my house. I just sorted out a cloth bag of old jewellery, and there were several in there! They are tiny, like black dots, and move quite fast. Anyone seen these before around their house?
Dust mites are white I think and can only be seen on a black background.
cleversod- yes I have, hence the "still" trying to find out. And I see that you still don't understand the question--answer idea of this website.
Hi. They may be book-lice (or Psocids). We had several of them in an old house. They can live in cloth or book spines etc. They are hard to shift but not harmful. If is NOTHING to do with your cleanliness. You can pick up a leaflet from your local council offices re helpng to get rid of them. We think ours got in on an old second-hand book.
Hope it helps.
Hope you find your solution. Although ours were identified as book 'lice 'they did not resemble woodlice at all. These were v small, almost like tiny tiny beetles, black/brown in colour. Sorry could not help.
we had an infestation of carpet beetles at work, never seen them, picked up by the regular environmental health trap checks, apparently they are harmless to us but love to eat carpets and cloth.
I was in an antique market and there was an interesting old handbag. I opened it and noticed a few tiny black approx 2/3mm length black creatures. They are probably dust mites I would say. They live in old things like old bags as per where you found yours. Just spray fly killer on them maybe?
