Thank you dot, I'll get his marriage certificate. What can I do if he wasn't in the Regiment when he got married? I know he had no children so cant go down that route! I hope you or anyone can help.

I think that alot now depends on when he served. was he killed in action? did he live to recieve an army pension? dis you know him in your lifetime to estimate when and where he was last alive? Is his wife/widow still alive? if not were they buried together?

Thanks dot. No he wasnt killed in action, no idea about the army pension. No I never knew him but know he lived until about 20 years ago. His wife has also passed away and I've no idea where or with whom he may or may not be buried with! Such a puzzle and all for the lack of a number!
