Racism - a load of hype about nothing ?
Take the ongoing voting in the USA. It is very clear that people may vote for a candidate because he is Black, or White, Hispanics won't vote for a Black, and blah blah blah on it goes. But on it does go, and why ever not ? If Black people want to vote for a Black candidate just because he is Black then why on earth not ? I'm certainly not hearing any voices raised against it.
(Beware of course the catch, which is that for White people to vote for a White candidate because he is White is disgusting racism, whoops who said that)

The ex-health minister who (allegedly) raped a girl with AIDS but is OK because he 'had a shower after'. The whole country experiencing massing power outages where the government hasnt bothered to maintain the electricity system and black farm workers even worse off than under apartheid due to the introduction of the minimum wage (hence losing all the 'extras' paid by white farmers e.g. land to build a house on, and food and eduation provided free)

sp1814, are you by any chance related to the sp1812 who's been on AB today, or are you being cloned?
blessed, I have neither heard nor read of black people voting for Obama because he's black - or white people voting for Clinton because she's white. You say 'it's very clear'... and perhaps it is to you.

Oh, and i know that's a Republican site. I should also mention if I had a vote there it would be Democrat, and i'd be voting for Monica Lewinsky's ex's wife.

The Independent ran a story last Saturday about the race issue. According to that article, Clinton (Bill, not Hillary) introduced race as a key factor in the election.
Have a look at this:

The key paragraph starts with The Clintons have encouraged the national media to focus on the black turnout

The problem is that they may be voting for a black person PURELY because they are black. Nothing to do with their policies, but because they are black.
Not picking on black people here, I am sure many whites would also vote for a white candidate because they were white.
I remember years ago when the result of the O J Simpson trial was given.
The TV company had a camera in a room full of whites, and another in a room full of blacks.
When he was found innocent the blacks leaped to their feet cheering, the whites just sat there looking shocked.
This was nothing to do with whether he really did it or not,
the blacks just wanted him let off, the whites wanted him locked up.
Racism from both sides.
