Telephone and Broadband Packages

I currently get me Broadband from Virgin (�17.99 per month) and I'm on a call plan with BT which works out about �30 per quarter.

I've been offered a talk and broadband plan from Virgin on a number of occasions but I've always turned it down, but now it is only �14.99 a month, whihc would be much cheaper than paying for the two spearately.

My concern is mainly this - what happens when you switch?

Do I just cancel my BT service and it magically becomes a Virgin line?
Do I still need to rent the line from BT?
Will Virgin need to come and install a new box?
What happens when there is a line fault? Who deals with it?

Hi. I'm on a Vigin tv, phone + broadband package + I love it! Virgin were great- they cancel the BT line ( you will have to cancel your direct debit if that's how you pay them).They installed a box outside, with minimal disruption.When they told me they would have to do some digging in the garden I was slightly worried, but it only took a few minutes and they re-tarmaced (sp?) immediately.They installed a Virgin box to tv, a broadband connection for pc, and a new phone socket. I was able to keep my old BT number. I'm delighted with it, as I don't have Sky TV. There are various TV packages to choose from- I think I have the Large one. Go ahead- I highly recommend them!

I live in a block of apartments though - rented - but they are only a few years old so maybe I'm already wired up? I think we are pre-wired for Sky.

Oh right. Not sure how that would work then, but have a chat with them. I only pay �20 a month for broadband, phone (free local + national calls 24/7) and digital tv.

I had cable phone once. Yes. it was cheap, but I got what I paid for - a lousy service where for some reason I could not dial out to some BT phones. Never again!

I`ve found Virgin excellent, I have phone and broadband (no download limit ) My download speeds are 3-4 times faster than before. I pay �16.50 per month inlusive of weekend calls.
