rposs kemp in afghanistan tonight

Watched this tonight after i got back from ------------ .Anyway i found it very good viewing and insightful.Anyone who hasnt seen this should take an hour out of their lives to see what the brave soldiers fighting in afghanistan have vto go through.Yes its their job,yes its their choice. But their courage and bravery is such that i think they all deserve a medal for even going there.Tonigh we saw how another of them died under fire.Very moving and makes you realise that wars still as vicious as ever , its not all cruise missiles and bombing raids.Men get killed , 3 in the first month ross kemp has been there.Ross kemp shows great courage filming this , whilst leaving us in no doubt of the fear he feels whilst under fire there.Definitely a programme of merit and very thought provoking.

When I managed to get onto SB, I nearly died to find 141 or so messages!!!!!! Stupid me thought that beta was still up and running and it was only me who couldn't access it!!!! What am I like! So, at some stage, I'm going to have to trawl through and reply to everyone, which won't be easy. If I'm not putting my penny's worth in on here, then I'm doing lots of other things! Btw - is Dot alright? She sounded a bit fed up the other night. Awww. xx
1. My son is out in Afghanistan.
2. Ross Kemp spent several months training with HM Army, taking part in exercises on Salisbury Plain, etc. to prepare him for his time out in Afghanistan. He neither asked for nor received any special treatment.
3. This is the most under-reportedwar that UK has been involved in in 'modern' times.............
The BBC and/or Ross Kemp must have found a way of insuring him as he experienced exactlywhat our boys and girls experience on a daily basis. Sorry, Red, but I don't think he would have had the respect and admiration, or co-operation, from our boys and girls that he now enjoys had he had 'special protection', and war-zone cameramen are a different breed themselves; 50% committed to exposing the truth and 50% insane.
I just think that it is an insult to our forces over there that the only substantial coverage of this war has come via a rather limited actor...........
I don't have SKY and even if I did I wouldn't watch this programme....................I might tape it to watch with my boy when he's safe and sound back home, maybe..........

Bit late into this thread but I felt compelled to say its a great pity it has been 'hi-jacked' by peoples opinions on Ross Kemp.
He is but the messenger-so dont shoot him.
This is an excellent insight into a conflict which should never have occurred. It has brought it home to me very sharply how sugar coated the pap we are fed is.
Just a personal aside if you dont mind -Christine -please dont be put off posting -that was an unjust 'attack' on you.We are not all like that and if on a very rare occasion I am out of order I am the first to apologise and hold my hands up.I dont like personal swipes -again I have been guilty-usually after provocation but thats no excuse - but have apologised. Its a very rare occurence tho -not on a daily basis like some x
