breast feeding at 4 1/2 ?????????

ewwww there is a woman on LK today who is still breast feeding her 4 1/2 year old!

I find that incredibly weird. She just said if she stopped the kid would be very upset! SO, it will get over it! My son cries if he cant have what he wants but he manages.
Good God, the child is at school. It is just wrong and i am very pro breast feeding, to a point

Jules, I watched a documentary on this a while back and also found it a little weird. I couldn't help thinking it was more for the mother than the child, keeping the children 'babies' .

Breast is best, but it's not socially acceptable at that child's age (the same age as the eldest 4GS sprog).

Let the child cry, (I don't know if it's a boy or girl) it will get over it

Its entirely for the mother if you ask me, cznt let go of her "baby" she was spouting stuff about the health issues but the child is no healthier than any others. Breat is good for the first 2 years, after that, i think its unimportant.

I have a child the same age and i just cannot imagine having him clamped to my boob!!!!

At this rate she must be sticking it through the railings at school break time !
There's just no excuse for that - and I'm surprised she can still supply. I think she enjoys it too much or she'd have weaned the child off it by now. How tying.

there was a programme a while back and it had an 8 year old that still did and therefore was home tutored!! I cannot remember if it was that same family but they had a child that breast fed and an older one that was allowed a 'shot' sometimes!! I think it is wrong and it is being done for the mother - the child would be perfectly well and healthy without it.
