Do you know for certain that he's bowing out, excelsior? The BBC says he's confirmed three specials in 2009 and a fifth series for 2010.

Kris Marshall from My Family would be my choice. But maybe they should consider turning the Dr into a female, which opens it up load of new possibilities. Then my choice would be a comedian like Jenny Eclair. Although a younger sexier model would probably get the vote ahead of her.
