 My golden retriever is 9 yrs old and has never been bred.  the golden girl that I want him to mate with is ready and willing but he just doesn't know how to mount her...How do we accomplish this??

I don't know the ins and outs of it (so to speak!) but I know that a local breeder has mentioned to me that she has to sometimes literally lift the dog's front legs onto the back of the female and even help with the vital insertion.  Apparently, no help is required after that bit! 

I can only wish you good luck!  I think I'd go and buy a pair of stout rubber gloves first - and hope the b**tch doesn't mistake them for something else.

I think that once he gets the idea (and the pleasure of course) he should be all for it!

of course there is always a romantic evening of dried food.... candle light... pond water....

But seriously - best of luck trying to breed them!!!

isn't your dog too old to breed? he is classed as senior now as from the age of 7 in fact,
