Starting Problems

When I start my car in the morning, 90% of the time it will start but then it will just cut out after a few minutes. When I try to restart it, it just cranks over but doesn't start and after a few times all the electrics will turn off and the battery will drain and i therefore need to recharge the battery. I have been to a number of garages but have had no success as to the problem

sounds like a knackered alternater or battery - easily checked at a garage I dont know why they cant seem to help
