at first i just felt ill at the thought of someone leaving a dead body to rot in their flat, how awful that no-one noticed theyd died But now im sad to think that someone with such mental problems as to leave their flatmate dead on the sofa should have been left without home visits for 10 years, even if just from family. http://news.scotsman.com/uk/Man-dead-for-10-ye ars.3760155.jp

Awww, that is such a sad story.
So much for care in the community.
I wonder if it is a skeleton now? I guess it must be, odd that noone else noticed, how very bizarre!!!!!

10 years for a complaint about the smell to get any action too.
thats very sad innit
What a sad story indeed.
Tis sad, how can it happen? social workers butt into lives when they aren't needed and when they are they sod off.
awwww, come on, ray - most social workers just get on and do their jobs ok and without publicity, same as most electricians do. Mistakes are sometimes made, as in any job (including mine, and I've made some doozies). But unfair to blame a whole profession.
Hi jno,, I am not blaming a whole profession, but if somebody has mental problems, they should be visited at home to make sure it is clean and safe for them to live in, thats all ,10 years? come on, should not happen, but it does and it is not an isolated case is it.
Question Author
its not the fault of any one person or profession, what about the neighbours? the guys GP? the families of the 2 men living there?
Oh red I agree with you 100% I am not saying it is one persons fault or one proffession, maybe I was wrong to mention "Social workers" but I have seen so many cases where we are working in houses where kiddies are in danger and the social workers do nothing cos they are scared of the families, it is the system to blame in the caes you highlighted,
