I think as records go the Hippo kills more people than the crocodile.

Yet hippos are quite shy animals, and only get aggressive if people get too close and wander onto their territory, or if they have their young nearby. A crocodile is a natural predator.

Hippos are seriously territorial animals, and very aggressive - hence the record for killing more people than crocs.
