The last 2 letters on a cars number plate used to correspond to which town the car was first registered in. (now you can buy your new car a "cherished number" from eg the DVLA and register it locally)

1,4,16,43,91 This is a bit obscure but so is the car number plates.. the difference between the numbers is an odd-number factor of three PLUS the previous difference ie: 1 (3x1) 4 ((3x3)+3) 16 ((3x5)+12) 43 ((3x7)+27) 91
