Lily pollen stain on dogs snout!

My puppy has been sniffing lilys and the white hair round her nose is now stained yellow from the pollen. Anyone got any ideas how to get it off?
Please help!

Oh bless! My dogs do that all the time! To be honest, I just wipe it off with a damp cloth if there's too much, but otherwise leave it, because lily pollen isn't easy to remove, but it wears off eventually!

Hi shivvy, lily pollen is a real sticker! Not sure what to recommend: it never comes off my clothes or furniture :S

Please remember that lilies are one of the plants that are very poisonous to dogs; maybe it's better keeping them well out of reach? I know how dogs manage to get into all sorts of places! It's a shame I can't have them around, they're my favourite flower!

Please remove the lillies from the reach of your dog - the pollen is extremely poisonous as are the leaves if they eat them.

I never knew that they were dangerous to dogs. What could happen and what are the symptoms?

Discolouration around the nose, craving to eat shoes, high piched bark.

I had a friend who's cat died as a result of lying under some lillies, the pollen dropped on her fur and she ingested it while cleaning herself, I'm not sure about all the symptoms but I know she was sick and died a couple of days later.

I think dogs are OK with lily pollen. It's dealy poison for cats. Marigolds are deadly for dogs.

Lily Pollen is more specifically deadly to cats, but this link seems to suggest it is also harmful for dogs.

It happened about this time yesterday. I presume if anything was wrong she would have shown symptoms by now?

I would assume so shivvy, yes. Is she OK? She would be pretty sick by now, so it seems she is OK.

Lilies are amongst a range of plants and flowers that are extremely poisonous to dogs. I miss having lilies around, but Jack makes up for that! :)

I really never knew about lilys leelapops. I had thrown them onto the compost heap which she then decided to raid in search of something dodgy to eat which she seems to enjoy doing!
She is absolutely fine and has no symptoms of illness. The lilys have been removed and she has been wormed so hopefully the situation has been sorted out fully!

shivvy, that's cool! She sounds like she's had no ill effects! I love the thought of her raiding the compost heap! They will try anything won't they! Give her a cuddle from me and a big lick from Jack (please don't mix them up, I don't fancy a mouthful of fur!)
