Just watched this and I was amazed at the standards.. OK OK -I know its just another 'celeb' programme but Chris Fountain and Suzanne Shaw were like professionals.
I personally am astounded that someone can reach that standard in a few months -WOW.
Just a wee addendum -last years winner Kyron Brackens (sp name?) -retired rugby player is now a professional Ice Dancer.
I still have to hang onto the side when I try skating -yet the first time I took R and J skating -J just waltzed onto the ice and was brilliant -you have to be fearless and she was at 7yr old.
Chris was a Ice Hockey player before he took up dancing on ice so although his skates are different for dancing he still has an advantage over basic learners. ie: knowing which side of the blade to use when turning, which is most important to keep balance.
Ahh -I had no idea -that explains a lot -TY for that.He is still brilliant tho -he has taken it to a new level -that is no mean feat.
Mind you when Suzanne did her spin tonight -that was astonishing -sh e was so fast that Nicky didnt have time to count the spins and I think he marked her down for that alone.
I ama utterly amazed by the standars -well to be honest its a 2 horse race already with maybe the chcick from Corrie coming ito it..
I think that Chris Fountain is amazing. The choreography for his piece this week was stunning. I must admit I think that the boys have a far harder task than the girls though. It must be far more difficult to do those lifts with confidence than be lifted.
Linda Lusardi is the worse in my opinion. She hardly actually skates and relies on complicated lifts! I think she should have gone this week.
