this happened locally on saturday. There were actually 7 wheelie bins fires across the estate, but as the fire engine was 'on call' and spotted them it was classed as one call. the second call was as the crew were clearing up back at station.
What do you reckon the 16 year old will get if he is found guilty? What would you like to see happen?
I wonder if his parents are concerned at all that he was out as late as 3am that night doing such things and risking lives?

I would like to see something along the lines of bad lads army being introduced instead of the young offenders institutions we have now. The majority seen to come out of this programme with a new outlook on life. Difference would be , is that they aren't allowed to leave until the course is up.
I have a 16 year old son and i would be worried sick if he was out at that time. well , the top and bottom of it is, he wouldnt be!

I agree with Julie!
It is about time parents took more responibility for their kids.
I am proud of the way my sons have grown up. I have taught them what's good and bad.
I would like to hear more from the parents of these convicted kids, because the media only puts one side, and that is the victims.

funnily enough newsdesk, im quite the opposite. My 16 year old son has loads of freedom but because of the way he was brought up, he doesn't abuse it. If he goes out, he goes to someones house, he has never roamed the streets and i wouldn't be happy for him to do that. I would rather have them all in my home than that.
I reckon im really laid back as a Mum but my son knows where the boundaries are set. I dont think you have to rule them with a rod of iron to gain their respect. I also think giving respect to them as teenagers gets you the same back. I never ever forget what it was like when i was his age.

The parents are responsible for their children ..no way was I allowed to go out and stay out until the early hours ...but if the parents are alkies , druggies , smackheads they don't care , as they are on another planet .With no guidance , you get lost ...so the children will do what they want ...very sad for all ....
