It never ceases to amaze me how people think laws to protect other people are a waste of time.

Men seem to think this about sex discrimination laws, white people about race discrimation laws, straight people about gay rights.

Human rights laws usually protect those with the least power in society and is also often sneered at by those who it's not aimed at.

Lets put the boot on the other foot - a device to keep the middle aged away from night clubs and youth clubs and record stores - to keep the "un-cool" away

I can just see the Daily Mail now!

There is a massive debate about this on chatterbank which may be more helpful than waiting for answers

Thanks, I don't generally venture to Chatterbank, I'll go and have a look.
Jake - they already have an irritating sound device which keeps the middle-aged away from night clubs and record shops etc. It's called rap music. So fair's fair - what's wrong with a little payback?

Perhaps if these minority low life scum that its aimed at didn't have so many "rights" then we'd be able to remove them from the streets where they terroise all. (Young and old)
Unfortunalty with so many right -on liberals in our judicuial system this will never happen so we end up with devices like this that are a catch-all.

Answer is: Dump the HRA and start locking away the minority scum that gives all kids a bad name. Can't be that difficult especially if the jails were somewhere extremely uncomfortable.

Ooops forgot its their "right" to have a Wii in jail whilst well behaved kids cant afford one.

Come to think of it lets jail the liberals too. They have caused all this.

Looks like my outsourceing of jails Idea is the way YMB!
Except I seem to recall you favour the liberal idea of Turkish jails - I prefer the Thai option myself.

Either ideal for these scum if I'm not allowed to pull the lever on them.
If this device is used properly then I cant see it as a problem. The effect of switching it on when a crowd of youths congregate in certain areas, such as outside shops etc, and cause trouble is the same as the shopkeeper going out and trying to disperse the youths - with less threat of abuse or violence towards the shopkeeper.

If the youths dont like it theyre free to go and congregate somewhere else where they wont annoy, threaten or abuse other people.

Its just a shame there's not a portable device.......
Unfortunately everyone is aware of what rights they have, but a majority forget that with rights come responsibilities.
I read about a much better idea a few months ago. Shops which experienced problems with young gangs hanging about were installing speaker systems, which played Barry Manilow and S Club 7 tracks on an endless loop.

Apparently (and I'm not making this up) it worked a treat. The kids would disappear within minutes of the music firing up.
