I have found about a million (or something like that) spanish pesetas, in a rarely opened box in a cupboard. Am I still able to exchange this for GB or Euros somewhere or is this dead money?
note: on 1 January 1999, the EU introduced the euro as a common currency that is now being used by financial institutions in Spain at a fixed rate of 166.386 Spanish pesetas per euro and will replace the local currency for all transactions in 2002
Don't know, but when the peseta was discontinued 1,000 pts were worth about 6. This makes a million worth about 6000, so worth pursuing if your maths are correct.
