blackheads were not a problem but whiteheads were and pores seemed quite open across my nose. I went to a beauticians and she started me on a programme (easy to follow) using MD Formulations glycolic products. Was a bit expensive at first getting build up of products but everything lasts a while and I have found can locate stuff cheaper on internet. This has sorted out my problem - white heads are caused by oil build up and oil was making my pores more open. Sometimes we can be guilting of scrubbing our skin too much. As I say was an easy to follow routine but certainly on occasions I may use loreal wipes (white packet with blue). Products can be found on the net but best to get advice as you need to build up the use of glycolic products slowly. All very worth it.
I've recently been converted to Lush products, I suffered from blackheads and I was advised by one of the sales assitants to try Ocean Salt, it's not a cleanser but a scrub which you apply to clean skin and it sorted mine right out!
I won't use anything else now....
