Newly tarmacadamed road

A nearby road (30 mph) has recently been resurfaced by my local authority.... but whenever I drive over it, my car makes all sorts of strange rumbling sounds ! The first time I "felt" this, I thought it was my brakes, so I tested them as well as
having a peek at them - they were fine... after the fifth hearing of this weird noise, I realised it was probably the new surfacing - could it be the AB kicking in ? I am totally baffled at feeling weird judders along just one stretch of newly laid road !

The rumbling sound is probably just due to the road surface � is there another route you could take to avoid it?

Exactly the same has just happened on the newly resurfaced road outside my office. The surface has been compacted in small sections, so there are a serious of very small ridges in the surface which make a car judder.
Just lazy workmanship, i'm afraid.

Thanks for the helpful answers... I thought I was cracking up or that I had problems with my brakes.... (I meant ABS, not AB above). It is a very busy main road and I suspect they had to either lay the tarmac at night or in a great rush to avoid huge traffic jams. I think I shall find an alternative route now...
