ok religion is there.. some need it some dont but we really do not need to have it shoved down peoples throats.
surely folk can make up their own minds, if someone is shouting the odds, personally it makes me want to avoid them.
it reaffirms the point its a mad world and the little boy and his fathers crusade certainly make you wonder

I didn't see the programme, but I get the idea. When I was visiting someone down in London, some JW's knocked at the door. After a bit of a chat, I was "lectured" about the sanctity of marriage by a young girl who looked about ten! I was speechless for a while, and then simply told her that she had no concept of the idea at all. Indoctrination like this is terrible.
I cried at that little boys face when the crowds were baying at him... The stupidity of the parents aside he's just a baby, can't people have some self control, he shouldn't have to see his daddy being screamed at like that. Poor kid was baffled, confused and crushed in about five minutes flat and it broke my heart. Suffer little children my ar5e.
And yes. Very ******* disturbing.

yeah - i worried about how he was told whe he was three that he'd sinned against God by not obeying his mum all the time....anyone had a 3 year old? do THEY obey your every word????!!!! no! Talk about the weight of the world on the lads shoulders!
to mention (yet again ! I know I can harp on a bit:-) but I was raised by very committed Christian parents and they would NEVER, NEVERm, NEVER subject me to that! They led by example, taught us right from wrong and then left us to make up our own minds!
Anyone wonder how the "left out" twin of the other boy must feel? Left to the sidelines. Shunted out. (or maybe a lucky escape?)

I was pretty concerned about the not sparing the rod... ******* knuckle draggers!
See this is time I need my partner in crime Mibs.. He has a way of putting that ^^^^ in an intelligent and rational manner whereas I just resort to insults.
Christ... Imagine a God so harsh that a seven year old never smiles. What a weight of responsibility on his shoulders, surely he should spend less time worrying about worms eating and more time digging them up in the back garden and mixing them with spagettie.
Age of innocence? Poor kid doesn't stand a chance and all in the name of organised religion. Utter bar stewards. Reminds me of the quote from Parenthood, '... hell you need a license to catch a fish, but they'll let any old dumb f**k be a parent'

I believe that parents should not impose these things on Children. The best way to develop their thinking, is through a good example set by parents themselves. God Says that Kids are born innocent. No child would even be punished in the life hereafter until he or she is old enough to understand what is good and what is bad. So why should we try to punish them in this world. Once children are old enough then they have mind of their own and they have to decide what they should or should not be doing. And for parents, that is the test of the training they gave them. Naomi - Do not worry about the spelling mistakes. I do not believe that you can judge someone just by the ability of his lingual knowledge. Any one's fingure can slip on the keyboard.
Ludwing - As I believe in my faith being the right one. So I would set an example for my children as a Good Muslim, and would of course show them what real Islam is about and what a majority of Muslims are, & should be like. Hopefully they would see no hypocrisy in my life style. Then they should have no reason for not following me. However, if they would have any other ideas in their mind, although I would not be happy but I would let them have a go. Because I am sure that does not matter how much you bang your head against the wall, in the end you can only get out through the door which is the right way. Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) said that up to the age of 12 your child is like a blank paper, you can write whatever you want to write on it. Now what you manage to write on it would reflect his or her future.
