Hysterosalpingogram (dye through your tubes)

Has any one had one and if so did it delay your period ? Im normally as regular as clockwork but now im four days late. The doctor said no unproctected intercourse untill after your first period but i thought if it hasnt happend after all this time it probably aint going to , so now im wondering if i am and would it affect it because of the dye/xray. No websites give u any information on the after effects really. ?????

I had that done, but that was about 8 and a half years ago, I am afraid I can't remember whether it delayed my period or not. When did you have it done? Would it be possible to be pregnant? I am sure that they test you prior to the procedure, so it would depend on where in your cycle you would have been when they carried it out - if you get what I mean. If you are concerned, I would test yourself and contact the hospital if necessary. Bear in mind that people go through chemotherapy and everything while pregnant and still have healthy babies - they are more resiliant than you think.

Incidentally after 2 years of trying, I had the above procedure as well as a laparoscopy and got pregnant the next month. I now have two very healthy boys - 13 months apart.

Annie0000 - - - - o ****** christ !! Just did a test , very faint line but a line none the less....... its 5pm now so with do another first thing. Wierd aint it, cause we try for ages but still seem to be shocked when we finally are. OMG your the first person i have told... LOL

lol what great news little miss. Now sit down and relax a bit, dont go running around the room or youll tire yourself out.

Id suggest a quick call to your consultant tomorrow morning, they may want to call you in for a scan sometime too to ensure that theres no repeat of what happened last time.

thanks Redcrx !!! gees...... dunno what do do with myself lol Me and the Hubby had big arguement at the weekend so homelife not so good right now. Think i will just keep it between me and you girls for now. The only thing that does concern me is a few medications i have had in the last couple weeks. One for thrush and the other, my daughter had worms (yuk) so the whole family had to take it. .... time will tell i guess. But yeah, i lost the last one so i intend to totally chill now (try)

P.S I totally remeber that feeling shocked , pleased and thinking sh!t there's no changing your mind now. It took a few weeks before I chilled enough to enjoy the pleasure of sucess at last.
