if i have two laptops at home do they both have to run off the same broadband provider.
or can i have two different providers??
if they dont,,can you still use the same bt line connection.

You could have two broadband providers running off different lines - one through the BT line, and the other a cable broadband from Virgin, which doesn't use BT lines.

Why you should want to pay twice when a router will allow several pcs (desktops and laptops) to run off one broadband I can't imagine.

If you want to use two providers down your telephone line, you would have to have a seperate phone line installed.
I can't imagine why you would want them to use a different ISP.
Assuming that you have a router (whether wired or wireless), then they can each use the same connection completely independently of each other.
We've got to stop meeting like this Ethel - my wife is beginning to suspect....
