Hey, i'm a 24 year old male and looking to quit my job for a change in lifestyle. I have decided to go travelling on some sort of adventure/ and to gain experience of other countries and cultures.( open my eyes to the world a bit more). Basically i have never done anything like this before, so if there is anybody out there who knows of any decent sites or has experienced going travelling alone and would like to share their experience, please feel free!!.Thanx!!

There are lots of organised tours you can do. One of my friends (a 32 year old female) has recently done a 6 week tour of Thailand, Laos, Camdobia and Vietnam with a group of people who she had never met before. She had a fantastic time and is now in New Zealand / Oz travelling around there on her own.
I went travelling with my girlfriend for a year and we did Cook islands, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand and it was the best experience we have ever had. We met so many nice people, young and old, English and foreign, locals and other travellers. If I had the money I would do it again at the drop of a hat.
The flights were about 1,100 each. Get down the library and read up the lonely planet guides which are perfect for travelling.
Go for it!

I have done a fair bit of independent world travel over the last 12 years... going for periods of between 2 and 4 months (I am fortunate to be self employed so taking time off from work is not such an issue)... excellent way to meet new people... hook up with others for a while then go your own way... do what you like when you like...
SE Asia is a great place for the first time independent traveller...
I've always booked my flights through Trailfinders and thoroughly reccommend them...
